Enterprises of which the annual turnover falls within the following thresholds qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

Those entities of which the majority of their turnover is derived from:

• the primary production of agricultural products e.g.: farming, fishing, etc.
• the provision of inputs and services to the above enterprises
• the beneficiation of agricultural produces e.g.: wine producers, canola oil producers, etc.
• the storage, distribution and/or trading and allied activities related to non-beneficiated agricultural products e.g.: marketing, storage and/or distribution of fruit

Enterprises of which the annual turnover falls within the following thresholds qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

Those entities which conduct business in the South African financial Sector, for example (not a finite list):

• Banking
• Long term insurance, short term insurance and re-insurance
• Retirement fund administration
• Financial services intermediation and brokerage
• Asset Management, consulting, and administration
• Private equity, venture capitalist and impact investors
• Management of investments on behalf of the public
• Underwriting management agents

Enterprises of which the annual turnover falls within the following thresholds qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

Those entities which derive the majority of their income through:

marketing, manufacturing, assembling, servicing, installing, maintaining and/or repairing

of:

systems, software, equipment, machines, devices, and apparatus

whether utilising:

manual, photographic, optical, mechanical, electrical, electrostatic, or electronic principles or any combination of such principles.

Enterprises of which the annual turnover falls within the following thresholds qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

Those entities of which the majority of their turnover is derived from being involved with first level processing of wood, in the following sub-sectors:

• Growers sub-sector (plantations, nurseries, and indigenous forests)
• Contracting sub-sector (forestry contractors in silviculture, harvesting, fire-fighting services and other forestry contracting services that are not covered by their own Sector Codes)
• Fibre sub-sector (pulp, paper, paperboard, timber board product, woodchip and wattle bark manufactures)
• Sawmilling sub-sector (industrial, structural and mining timber sawmills and match producers)
• Pole sub-sector (pole treatment plants)
• Charcoal sub-sector (charcoal producers)

Enterprises of which the annual turnover falls within the following thresholds qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

The Amended Tourism B-BBEE Sector Code applies to all enterprises within the Tourism Sectorand all parts of its value chain, inter alia:

• Accommodation: Hotels, Resort properties and timeshare, Bed and Breakfast enterprises, Guest Houses, Game Lodges, Backpackers, and hostels
• Hospitality and Related: Restaurants & Conference Venues (not attached to hotels), Professional Catering, Attractions, Casinos, Consulting and Professional Services Companies
• Travel and related services: Tour Wholesalers, Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Tourist Guides, Car rental companies and Coach Operators

Enterprises of which the annual turnover falls within the following thresholds qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

The scope of this amended sector code is applicable but not limited to commercial activities in the following industries:

• Residential property industry: Housing, Community schemes and Land zoned for development.
• Commercial property industry: Office property industry, Industrial property industry, Leisure property industry, Retail property industry and Land zoned for development.
• Other Property value chain areas in Property Sector (but not limited to): Property Development, Property Ownership, Property Services (Property Management, Facility Management, Broking, Estate Agents) Property Valuation

Enterprises to which the following thresholds apply, qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

This sector code is applicable to the following

• Advertising Companies: enterprises whose core business is the conceptualisation, creation and
• production of advertising to foster a relationship between a product and the consumer.
• Public Relations Companies: enterprises whose core business is the conceptualisation, creation and implementation of communication to facilitate a relationship between a product and the public.
• Communication Companies: enterprises whose core business is the conceptualisation, creation, production, and implementation of communication as a marketing tool in two or more of the following disciplines;
  • Advertising
  • Public Relations
  • Experiential
  • Design

Enterprises to which the following thresholds apply, qualify to present B-BBEE affidavit

The CSC applies to all enterprises who derives more than 50% of their income from construction related activities including:

• Built Environment Professionals (BEP’s) e.g.: Town Planners, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, etc.
• Contractors e.g.: Construction works as per CIBD grading: CE, EB, EP, GB, SB, SC, SG, SH, SI, SJ, SL and SN.
• Construction Material Suppliers, e.g.: suppliers of cement, concrete, bricks, electrical equipment, and steel and also enterprises which provide plant hire for construction related activities.

Enterprises of which the annual turnover falls within the following thresholds qualify to present B-BBEE affidavits

The scope of this amended sector code is applicable to all entities which provide defence materials and or other supplies, products and services to the Department of Defence or its agencies.

Should your enterprise be an EME, with an annual turnover of less than R5 million per annum or a black owned (at least 51%) QSE with an annual turnover of between R5 million and R50 million, please contact us for assistance.
